So I donned an old wet suit we had in order to stay warmer.
Strangely enough I also felt skinnier in it which is a benefit I don't mind either ~wink~wink~. Oh and I felt like I could be a pretty cool surfer girl too if I wanted! :) Man! That's a pretty powerful wet suit! ;)
2. I am so out of shape!!! That beginner workout I posted the other day? Yeah, I died! I'm going to have to work up to that. So instead I decided to see if I can just do these:
25 yd back crawl
25 yd breaststroke
25 yd elementary backstroke
25 yd side stroke on each side
25 yd butterfly
Tread water for at least 1 minute
3. Because I've never been a serious swimmer, my technique is horrible. I struggled timing my breaths with my strokes and felt like a fish out of water flipping helplessly around.
I'm sure this will correct itself with time as I get more used to swimming the strokes. In fact, at Zero to One Mile they say technique tends to correct itself once you learn to swim a straight mile. So I'm not really going to worry about it.
I will just focus on finishing this set, then adding another to it as I feel ready. I will just slowly work my way up to swimming my first mile in the pool.
This isn't a race against anybody. In fact, I don't think this makes me a wimp at all. It makes me a CHAMP! Because I am out there doing it! And it feels good!!!
